Hello users! Today FandomDesktop was released, and we'll start with the basic part: what's new, what's bad, and what'll come later.
What's new[]
Before all, very things has changed on that. Thanks (?) to that, we will have to copy and paste all MediaWiki:Wikia.css's (R.I.P 2008-2021) to the new MediaWiki:Fandomdesktop.css. I guess common.js isn't necessary to move to a Fandomdesktop.js, including when wikia and common is the same file merged in two, may not affect all JS installed there. The icons on the left toolbar not is the better for me, and now also the footer toolbar maybe is good, (you can see it at the right, down of all). EDIT: The dark mode is good, test it
What's bad[]
Apart from the icons at the left toolbar, sometimes the wordmark doesn't load and the favicon, too. The color is blue sky that applies for all wikis, and also not is good.
DID YOU KNOW: You can search pages at the top in the header?
Also, the titles of pages are like page sections but more soft:

What'll come later[]If you wasn't one of the first people testing FD the first day, may be now, (yes, now, the day number 23, in the month 03 at the year 2025) and you're on dark mode, the wikitables will not be easy to read. On the dark mode, the text will be light but the wikitables already are light, and it makes it difficult to read. The least this is shown in custom wikitables, like the Community Central in Spanish custom wikitables. |
